Dr. Karen Miles and Hilary Howard, co-founders of The Career Hub, have worked extensively in Ventura County's education and business sectors and are knowledgeable about the local labor market and the needs of the educational institutions across the county. Our goal is a unified work based learning system connecting employers and educators across the county, and providing high quality, high quantity, and equitable access to work based learning experiences for all students.
Our Goals are to:
Improve quality and quantity of work-based learning (WBL) in schools and colleges
Develop a regional community of practice plus site-specific WBL planning and professional development
Grow opportunities with employers from siloed to shared with a central point of contact
Improve equity of access for students who need more support with career development
What we offer:
Platform -
External - For employers to post WBL opportunities/ jobs; for students to view jobs/ internships
Internal - For WBL Connectors to access and manage WBL opportunities for their students including eForms (training agreements, evaluations etc)
Customer Relations Management system to track contacts with employers & facilitate outreach to them
Platform tracks different levels of WBL activities & provides infographics and other data for reporting
